The majority of travel agencies only sell them sporadically, and when they do, it is usually only at the customer&#8217;s request. <a href=\"https:\/\/fried-partner.de\/\">Dr. Fried &amp; Partner<\/a>, together with partners from <a href=\"https:\/\/aida.de\/\">AIDA Cruises<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bwhhotels.de\/\">BWH Hotels<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lufthansa.com\/de\/de\/homepage\">Lufthansa Group<\/a>, uncovered the challenges and solutions for selling sustainable travel and how travel sales can be strengthened in this area as part of the<strong> industry initiative &#8220;Sustainability in Sales&#8221;<\/strong>. The results were presented at this year&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itb.com\/de\/\">ITB Convention in Berlin<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Travel distribution is confronted with the following<strong> challenges<\/strong>:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Low demand from the customer&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Limited number of sustainable offers&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Insufficient labelling of sustainable services in the systems&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lack of incentives for the sale of sustainable offers&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>findings<\/strong> from the initiative show that sales partners and travel agencies can be supported in sales by the following measures, among others:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Raising awareness of the topic by placing sustainability in the customer journey at an early stage&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Making offers easier to find by visibly labelling sustainable options&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Knowledge building and a more informed sales pitch with the help of a simple info search and bundled information from providers&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creating incentives for end customers by emphasizing the added value of sustainable travel&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The bottom line:<\/strong> Sustainability is and remains an important topic, and the implementation of sustainable activities is essential, regardless of demand. Sales play a crucial role as an intermediary between service providers and end customers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The challenges were recognized, and initial solutions identified. The initiative is planning further events to shed light on different perspectives and take a closer look at individual topics.
